What the locals want is wider bike lanes and repaving the existing sidewalk. Can Stanford agree to that?

As a former resident of Stanford Weekend Acres I understood that the trail was to off-set Stanford's new expanded facilities. The trail was originally proposed to be on Stanford land. If it were there, Ladera residents would be able to bike easily to a Stanford game with their child. Since no child bikes to school from Ladera or Stanford Weekend Acres it seems a bike path for recreation on Stanford property would be what is needed. The commuters to Stanford would also be able to avoid the Alpine congestion. Of course if the unspoken agenda is to widen Alpine Road to help the Stanford commuters in cars then the danger and inconvenience to individuals is not their concern.
