About Us
The Almanac Online is the community news and information service for Menlo Park, Atherton, Portola Valley and Woodside, contiguous communities located on the Midpeninsula south of San Francisco. The Web site, www.AlmanacNews.com, provides frequent news updates; a forum called Town Square, where residents and visitors exchange information and ideas on matters large and small; and other features designed to link people with information about community events and resources.
The Web site also contains stories and other content from the newspaper, including back issues beginning in 1998. On the home page, you can click on recent cover images to view a Table of Contents with links to the stories. If you click on Section 1 or Section 2 under the cover images, you can view the entire paper as it appears in print.
The Almanac newspaper was founded in 1965 by three Portola Valley residents, Betty Fry, Hedy Boissevain and Jean Helfin. It is published every Wednesday and is available for free delivery in the communities it serves.
