Stanford students continue sit-in, demand university condemn Israel's siege on Gaza

Original post made on Nov 2, 2023

As students at Stanford University reach the two-week mark of a sit-in on campus calling for the university to condemn Israel’s siege on Gaza and further support Palestinian students, they’re showing no signs of stopping.

Quite frankly, I am a little sick and tired of campus students' demands. Period. But to accuse Israel of genocide after the horrific Hamas terrorist attack on innocent Jewish civilians on October 7th is rich. Do they not comprehend what happened that day? That it was CIVILIANS who were targeted in a most barbaric and deliberately inhumane manner. And the terrorists rejoiced in their evil deeds.
Maybe these angry students should take a few history classes, or better yet, read a few history books instead of railing and demanding.

Calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is like Hirohito calling for a ceasefire in Japan immediately after Pearl Harbor. It makes no sense at all. Hamas committed an unspeakable atrocity in Israel and started a war. It will now face the consequences, and unfortunately, so will the civilians in Gaza that it hides behind.

The best solution is an immediate and unconditional surrender by Hamas.

one-sided coverage

Israel has profound reasons for declaring war on Hamas

who at Stanford is seeking to "to legitimize and defend the horrific savagery of the Hamas massacre of October"?

"and a round trip covered by the university"
Provided Stanford does the same for all students, staff and faculty whose families were impacted by the Hamas terrorism.

Almanac editorial staff, why did you leave out pictures of the counter protest? For everyone’s benefit, adjacent to the “sit-in” is a Shabbat dinner table set up for the 200+ Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza. There is one chair for every hostage with a picture and a bio. It’s a very powerful installation and covers both sides of the story.

Seeing the Almanac report uncritically about a supposed "active genocide" claim from Stanford students is atrocious.

There's no genocide. There is a war going on with Hamas terrorists hiding among a civilian population. Israel has called for non-combatants to evacuate to Southern Gaza for several weeks. Israel's war is with Hamas. Hamas must surrender without condition or be destroyed. The barbaric murder of 1400 Israeli citizens started this and Israel must be allowed to destroy this active threat to its existence and to the safety of its citizens.
