Sequoia Union teachers rally at high school board meeting to lobby for higher pay

Teachers in the Sequoia Union High School District are demanding increased salaries to keep up with the high cost of living in the Bay Area as they seek a new two-year contract.

Public schools are a method of directing taxpayer assets to the teachers' union with no accountability for performance at all.

Having seen so many teachers stand up at the September board meeting and speak out against the honors classes that so many students and families pleaded to have back, I am left wondering if perhaps these teachers would be better off elsewhere. Perhaps they can find a district that will pay them more money, while simultaneously letting them dictate school policy, regardless of what families and other voters want.
