Berman is an odd duck.

He voted for these bad bills:
—AB 957 (it gave the state the power to take children away from their if the parents disagreed with a child’s state gender identity
—SB799 (it would have provided striking workers with unemployment benefits)
—ACA7 (it would provide a “workaround” to overturn Prop 209, which provided an end to affirmative action)
—AB 2008 (2022 law passed that punished doctors for providing alternative information to COVID-19 hardline agenda pushed by government and CDC officials)

Berman is in the pockets of too many special interest groups. He should be replaced in 2024.

When you are a Democrat in the California Assembly or Senate, you either go along with leadership or you won't be on a single committee, get funding for your district or get help with your re-election.

Fortunately for leadership - and unfortunately for everyone else - they dutifully follow like the good little ducks they are.
