With the gun attack in Belle Haven a couple weeks ago and this attack in East Palo Alto, not to mention the gun fire that seems to occur regularly, it feels like the area is getting back to the late 80's. I seem to recall that they got help from Palo Alto, the California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff's department and other law enforcement agencies to increase patrols and response time and deal with these shootings quickly. Maybe they need to do the same again?

With sympathies and sorrows for those lost and suffering from this incident.
It is good to see that the city of East Palo Alto will “not tolerate” shooting in city parks. Will the city still tolerate nightly fireworks, frequent running of stop signs, and drivers doing donuts in intersections?
Apologies for the simplistic slippery slope argument, but don’t you expect crimes to get worse when more criminal acts are tolerated?
