2301 Broadway is diagonally opposite the square and next to a broad set of communal gatherings, parades, concerts and festivals. Feels like a missed opportunity to foster a broader retail & family entertainment downtown for a little tax revenue...

"Cannabis Desert"? *cringe* It's not like not being able to buy healthy food in one's neighborhood. Let's simply keep the primary point of the legalization of recreational marijuana in mind: to reduce the power of crime in the sale of marijuana. Usage is not particularly to be encouraged. As far as I'm concerned, the opening of regulated dispensaries should be done in a way to undermine the illegal trade; if you can do that while keeping dispensaries out of central business districts, that would be better.
