Menlo-Atherton wrestler wins a state title

Menlo-Atherton senior Alexia Benoussan became Menlo-Atherton’s third girls state wrestling champion when she beat Los Gatos’ Veloria Pannell, 5-2, in the final round of the 131 bracket Saturday at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield.

While me oldest AJ Richter didn't fare as well in the State Championships, AJ is the first wrestler from Woodside Highschool that anyone can remember to make it that far. AJ competes in the 189lb girls bracket.

Congrats to all of our area wrestlers from the newest to the sport to those that enjoyed the successes of their efforts and hard work.
