Pets in Need cuts contract with Palo Alto, alleging city's 'egregious failure'

Pets in Need, the city of Palo Alto's animal services contractor, announced in a fiery letter that it is ending its contract with the city, alleging Palo Alto has breached its contract with the nonprofit.

There's always two (or more) sides to a story, and PA may very well have failed in its commitment to build a better facility per its agreement. Yet form the start Pets in Need has not responded well to this event, coming off as defensive and combative. It may be time for the organization to take a hard look at its leadership and determine if the right people are in the right posts to restore public confidence or risk going out of business.
