Group steals $50K worth of handbags from The RealReal

The RealReal became the latest store targeted in a string of expensive handbag thefts in Palo Alto on Monday after a coordinated group of seven men raided the retailer's downtown store.

How about afixing an exploding dye back to each high end purse in the stores. Florescent green or yellow should show up quite well.

Below is what happens if your consignment is stolen while in possession of the RealReal. Interestingly it doesn't say when an item is deemed stolen or how quickly one receives the "compensaton."
Theoretically speaking if your items weren't selling you could hire 7 guys at $1000 each to steal your $50,000 valued items and pocket $43,000.

"If an item of Property is damaged, stolen, or lost while in The RealReal's possession, it will be treated as Sold (defined in "Title to Property" at Section 7 below) and The RealReal will pay you a Commission (defined in "Commissions and Payment" at Section 8 below) on that item. The Commission will be based on the damaged, stolen, or lost item’s estimated Net Selling Price (defined in "Commissions and Payment" at Section 8 below), which will be determined solely by The RealReal.
