It sounds like this child is being victimized by a human traffricker. Instead of arresting her, get her some help.

I second Dr. Altman's comment.

I'm not following the logic. Is the Menlo Park resident who called for the escort the alleged human trafficker? Is there any evidence he knew she was under age when he made the escort request, or specifically requested that?
Is the escort agency (if there is one) the human trafficker? I suppose if the Menlo Park man visited a brothel (as our sheriff did some years back, with his boss at the time, in Las Vegas) there could be some possibility that was the case, but if she was sent to his home alone, I don't see how this is practically possible.
Sounds to me like a citizen called for a prostitute (which is illegal, but, again, our sheriff did the same thing, actually worse in going to a location that seemed clearly to involve squalid conditions for the women, and was in the midst of being raided as a den of human trafficking), and got burned by a young lady who cut him and robbed him.
I'm not seeing the citizen as the villain here based on the facts reported.

I don't think anyone is saying that the person who got slashed is a human trafficker, are they? In fact having read the article several times I don't see anything here that indicated human trafficking. Now during the investigation that may looked into further but I think basing that on the article is jumping to conclusions. Hope he recovers and learns his lesson. I am sure all the neighbors know exactly who he is and he will be doing a walk of shame every time he leaves his house...
