According the CDC’s 10/20/20 report, there is only a 1 in 5,500 chance of an elementary age student getting COVID and only a 1 in 2,700 chance of a 12 -17 year old student getting it. The odds of a teacher contracting COVD from the student population is near zero. Studies show that teachers that did contract COVID didn’t get it from the students. Teachers are no doubt safer with school children than anyone else. The Catholic schools demonstrated the safety of providing in-person leaning for 1.6 mil children during the pandemic.

Virus cases in CA have fallen by 80% since January and we are close to herd immunity. Its way past the time to open our schools and end the needless suffering and educational setbacks imposed on our students.
