As the Executive Director for Upward Scholars – a local nonprofit providing adult immigrants the support needed to continue their education, get better jobs, and serve as role models and advocates for their children – I am so thankful for the fruitful partnership with Vegan Outreach. Since March, Vegan Outreach has been providing 146 Upward Scholars students in Redwood City – representing 567 family members – biweekly grocery boxes of delicious and nutritious vegan food. Our students and their families look forward to receiving their boxes which have become a lifeline to them as they struggle to pay for food and other essential items during the ongoing pandemic. We hope to extend this blessing of a partnership into 2021!
