I'm so proud of the young people who organized this peaceful protest and I'm incredibly encouraged by the thousands who showed up to create a chorus against racism.

I'm a little discouraged that the first two comments about this article seem to be negative and/or miss the point -- the exercise of free speech in this great country has often involved risk-taking and is most venerable when used on behalf of the oppressed. Just as when Rosa Parks sat in the front of the bus, there will always be those who claim that those who protest were "looking for trouble."

My comment was not meant to take away from the sentiments of the marchers. On the contrary, I fully support them. But I think it is foolhardy to not take account of the pandemic. We all will suffer from transmission of the virus that could have been avoided.

Photos eliminate depth of field, making it difficult to judge spacing. Most wore masks, plus the outdoor factor seems to greatly reduce transmission.

This isn't English. It's newspeak, and it comes off as confusing and anti-conceptual. There are valid issues here, but if this is how leaders of this "movement" talk about them, they do the valid portions of their cause an injustice.
