"landmark" cafe - really?

You feel the need to name a landmark cafe, then pick a real landmark - Anne's.

Sorry to throw a wet blanket on this but they have 40 years of profits for an always-packed restaurant and being closed for 2-3 months might be the end of the business (according to their GoFundme)? I know restaurants are a tough grind but If the GoFundMe money was going straight into the pockets of the hourly employees who are living paycheck to paycheck, then maybe I’d give it some thought. And why are they not part of the 25% that would survive? I realize that Covid-13 will change how cafes like CB do business but something is not adding up here folks. Unlike Bucks Restaurant's GoFund me and despite what the article states, this wasn't for the employees. This fundraising was due to their cash reserves being drained and they needed to order inventory. Huh?

This is the most bizarre collection of money I have ever seen. Almost $130,000 for the business owners back pocket, TAX FREE, yes folks you have read that correctly, TAX FREE.

To have funds to 'order supplies', really (30+ days credit offered I'm sure), I'm sure this well healed business owner (also owns and operates the thriving (in CV19) Vesta in Redwood City. Really ?

I would like to hear that no Cafe Borrone employee was left without an income whilst they were closed. Are any employees reading this? Would sure like to know. (I'm not one).

IMO, there are many more deserving causes on GoFundMe than donating to a coffee shop who has been profitable for 40 years (give or take a year) and for illegal immigrants (who's visa has expired) .. A young Menlo Park lady was struck down pre-CV 19 (I have no connection with) and only raised circa $35,000.

Shaking My Head ! SMH
