“1. Corona virus is a familiar illness, and not as bad as the others. It is from the SARS family but with a lower mortality rate, about 0.2-0.5 per 100 cases. This is close to the rate of an ordinary flu outbreak.”

Wrong. Covid 19 spreads more easily than either SARS or Mers and therefore will infect far more people and cause far more deaths.

According to the WHO as of today there have already been 83,694 cases of Covid 19 vs 8,096 during the entire SARS epidemic and 2,494 during the entire MERS epidemic.

And as of today there have already been 2,861 deaths from the Covid 19 virus vs 774 deaths from the entire SARS erpidemic and 858 deaths from the Mers epidemic.

I’m so old I can remember all the way back to 2018 when repealing “Net Neutrality” was going to be end of the world. We survived that, and we’ll survive COVID-19.

Currently, COVID-19 fatality rate is at 3.4%, which may go down once more epidemiology data becomes available. The typical flu is 0.1%. COVID-19 is magnitudes higher.

Also won't say the US response has been exceptionally good. The CDC botched the testing kit, and had to narrow the definition of who could get tested.

Less than 12 hours ago, the President called the whole thing a HOAX.

It's silly. That's why Donald Trump appointed Pence to run the whole thing. So silly that Pence's first action was to fly to Florida (for a fundraiser.)
