We need to be uniform in our unequivocal opposition to this excessive and reckless push for housing in our small town. Our roads are not equipped for the amount of traffic this would bring, not to mention it would ruin our rural way of life. I urge all residents to make this clear by any means necessary, including legal action if we must. Let us protect our town from being permanently destroyed.

This towne council needs to step down. They are clearly abusing their power by reappointing cronies that will fall in line with the council’s personal agenda of converting open space into high density housing against the will of the residents and against the towne charter. Now they want to rewrite the charter presumably to allow more high density housing. The council is not promoting the values of the towne’s residents. Instead they, and the towne manager, are promoting their own personal agendas of high growth and high density housing. Just look at the Stanford project, 35+ homes on 6 acres. Take stock residents, or soon our beloved valley will look like Menlo Park.

I thought this was an election! How is it that the TOWN COUNCIL gets to choose the Commissioners? As well, they chose the members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Affordable Housing or Town Owned Property Committee, as they are now calling it...consisting of former commissioner Carter Warr as a "public member," Steve Toben (former town council member as a "public member") JUDITH HASKO, NICHOLAS TARG, two members of the town council, and Chip McIntosh, a "public member" also involved on other committees within the town government.
It seems that they simply didn't want to disrupt this committee by considering other candidates for the Commissioner positions.
Can we not get some new blood? While I applaud the public's involvement in town government, it does seem that both the town council and the planning commission have had the same people switching between the two for far too many years. If two separate candidates applied to be commissioners, and neither one of them were appointed, it's in the public's interest to know why.

I see the plans for gaslighting Portola Valley are safeguarded. Presumably this fits in nicely with the old-time rural character many hope to preserve.
