Inside Stanford's bid to expand -- and how it came undone

The largest project in Santa Clara County's history got the axe just before noon on Nov. 1, a casualty of fundamental disagreements between county and Stanford University leaders and accusations of "lack of good faith."

It’s not full mitigation until it accounts for ALL the BENEFITS the project brings. The new jobs, the boost to the economy, etc. Anyone who thought an organization as smart as Stanford would go for the attempted shakedown is an idiot and should never have been involved.

The Wedge appears to be heavily traveled already, while being conveniently located near shopping and Stanford. Possibly other locations on the campus could be offered to give residents a choice. The University Housing Office must know of any alternatives.
