I’m glad the Woodside Council decided not to ban natural gas. The day will likely come when it makes sense to go all electric, but now is clearly not the time to become 100% dependent on the grid: Web Link
Some day our electric supply may be perfectly pure. Maybe. Some day California might not have the highest power rates in the nation and the grid may be highly reliable. Some day. Meanwhile, natural gas - while not perfect (imo nothing is) - is the cleanest of all the fossil fuels, and modern gas fired heating systems are available that are highly efficient. If we want to make a special local contribution to cleaner energy, and carbon reduction, I suggest we consider incentivizing using the most efficient electric and gas equipment in new construction and remodels.
