Critical business areas spared PG&E outages in Portola Valley and Woodside

Many streets in Portola Valley and Woodside lost power due to PG&E's precautionary shutoffs at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, but businesses and residences close to critical business areas and main roads tended to be spared.

If these power outages don't convince you that California is a basket case, nothing will.

People whining about power outages should look at video from LA fires right now. Or the ones last year and year before.

I would gladly trade my 2 days of inconvenience to have a home and to keep my family alive.

1000% supportive of PGE and hope they continue to err on the side of caution.

Do you think PG&E should focus more of their money on hardening their lines rather than executive parties, bonuses and shareholder payouts?

I support the caution of the shutdown as well, but I know the shutdown was only needed because of a failure on PG&Es part to prioritize the safety of their transmission lines above monetary gains.

It's like letting a car's brakes wear down to nothing then supporting the idea of driving very slowly because of the worn out brakes.
