PG&E is poised to turn off electricity to vast parts of NorCal to reduce the fire danger. The Peninsula and coast may be next. Thank goodness natural gas lines are not also turned off. Going forward, we may need more appliances fueled directly by natural gas. The electrical grid can be disrupted intentionally or by a disaster. Alternatives are needed.

Natural Gas Alternative is right. But here’s the bad news. My green friends and unwitting public officials are forcing gas compression stations to be electric powered instead of being “self powered” using gas from the pipelines for which they are compressing gas. So electric power outages can lead to gas outages as well! Brain dead.
