Facebook employee killed in Fremont collision

Facebook officials expressed sadness Thursday when they learned that a bicyclist killed in a collision with a vehicle in Fremont Aug. 28 was identified as a man who worked as a software engineer at the company.

The CBS News report says the driver left the crash scene and went to work. Co-workers saw the bicycle lodged in the windshield and encouraged him to surrender to police. The bicyclist may have survived had the driver called 911 immediately. The bicyclist was hit from behind. Driver fatigue may have caused the collision. Web Link
