"Are they coming to dismantle the progress we did make and set us even further back?"

What progress had the old School board made? The schools in the Ravenswood School District have consistently been some of the lowest in the state, getting ratings of 2 or 3 out of 10. That does not leave a lot of room to get worse. The old school board did nothing to improve the schools, instead they enabled the previous Superintendent to dismantle what was working well (principals that were making good progress) and to hire her son at a high salary. The old board and superintendent should be investigated and charges brought if they were found to act inappropriately. What they are doing now, the same they have done in the past, it stop anything that would provide a better education for the kids.

Ana Pulida and Sharifa Wilson are upset that they are no longer able to get their way on School Board, which in the past included sinecure positions for their friends and family, the ability to fire people who questioned their leadership, and steer contracts in the direction of their supporters, who then kicked back money to their campaigns. Transparency and professionalism are being implemented in Ravenswood, and the only people threatened by this are folks who got jobs because of who they know, not their ability to perform their duties.
