Congratulations to Carrie Fregosi and other pickleball players for bringing this great sport to the attention of Portola Valley City Officials! Pickleball is not only good for exercise but is a wonderful social activity that brings the community together for fun and camaraderie. Palo Alto has just approved 6 more permanent courts, Mountain View has recenty installed 2 and Sunnyvale has installed 4. Fremont Hills Country Club are in the process of converting a tennis court into 4 pickleball courts. Pickleball has gone mainstream with the National Pickleball Championships being held in November at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. We have an average of 50 people, seven days a week, playing pickleball at Mitchell park and we're looking forward to the day when every town will offer a pickleball facility for their community. Kudos to Portola Valley!
