Atherton: Sixteen-year-old arrested for having gun on M-A campus

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy who they suspect brought a gun on the Menlo-Atherton High School campus on June 6 during the Atherton school’s graduation ceremony. The suspect is not an M-A student, police said.

My understanding is that current MAHS students became aware of non MAHS students who had entered the campus with guns with the intention to do harm, and they were the ones fighting with the suspects. They were heroes, protecting their school. I hope they get the honor and recognition they deserve.

Nice job students, security, and Atherton Police. It could have turned into a tragic event. Let’s put some real armed police officers there. We very were lucky this time!
