PA Weekly's April Fool's Story - Elon To Build Palo Alto Tunnel

Original post made by Longtime MP Booster, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Apr 15, 2019

Just read a wonderfully written satire published by the Palo Alto Weekly that I missed on April Fool's Day. It's about Palo Alto's apparent success securing billions of dollars of funding for the construction of a train tunnel along Alma. It's "must read" hilarious!

One former Menlo Park councilman was so pleased to hear Palo Alto's good news that he encouraged the Menlo Park City Council to duplicate that city's strategy: "Perhaps Menlo Park would have a partner like Musk and others and our community would be able to see how it (tunnel) could be realized". His email is very entertaining and worth a read. Web Link

What do you think Menlo Park should do?

Loved this idea: "In addition to the Boring Company, the consortium includes Caltrain, the engineering firm COMEON and Holy Rollers, a Montana-based manufacturer of high-end roller-coasters.

I bet most commuters would be willing to pay a lot more for type of travel!

Could elevating the Caltrain tracks in Menlo Park include two thrilling loops?

Our community might support this entertaining solution.

Probably would boost Caltrain ridership.
