I almost wish this project could be put on hold so we can see how the development across the street from this new purposed development will effect the traffic etc.

Note to the editor: Koma Sushi is actually located in the ladera shopping center in PV. Did you mean to refer to a different sushi restaurant?

@KBurnham, that would be the prudent thing to do, to see how the Stanford AND Greenheart projects affect traffic in Menlo Park before approving medical office development, which incurs such a high cost in terms of daily car trips. But this is the "new" Menlo Park we're talking about and a satisfactory traffic mitigation may be found in, say, thinner lane striping on El Camino or what have you.

No name mistake in the article -- there's a Koma Sushi in Menlo Park (Web Link but I don't know that it's related to the location in PV (the website doesn't seem to indicate such).

But none of the name mis-match gets past the problem that this is a poorly designed, poorly planned, and unwanted development that doesn't improve the neighborhood or El Camino. I'll bet the folks who built that Pendleton Shirts building thought they were God's gift to Menlo Park- and what a pimple on the landscape that is! This will be the same if it's not improved significantly or crushed through opposition!

There are actually three Restaurants owned by the same people:
Koma Sushi in Menlo Park
Koma Sushi in Portola Valley
Kanpai Sushi in Palo Alto

My understanding was that the owners of Koma Sushi in Menlo Park expanded to the other two restaurants in case this proposal or one like it did pass.

Opposition to ANY project is the norm for the village of Menlo Park. Biggest bunch of NIMBYs imaginable.

Los Altos Downtown is very well planned. Both Main and State Street are charming and attractive encompassing all of the shops in an architecturally pleasing design frame. It is a very pleasant shopping and dining area.
Menlo Park is a hodgepodge and piece mill mishmash of shops, vacant storefronts and ridiculous outdoor dining pushing into parking spaces blocking views of crosswalks making it dangerous for pedestrians. And I see the greedy parking enforcement patrol everywhere. I’ve never noticed one in Los Altos.
It’s getting worse by the year. We are going to end up like the big box city of Redwood City. Box after box after box of apartments mirroring Mountain View & Sunnyvale !!!
I’m afraid it’s too late for Menlo Park . RIP

Build Baby Build!!!! Property values keep rising as development marches forward. If you old NIMBYs want a quiet life move to some rural area.
