Earthquake drill scheduled Saturday in Woodside

Passersby who see a lot of emergency activity in Woodside Saturday morning (March 23) will probably just be noticing an earthquake drill taking place at the Mounted Patrol grounds at 521 Kings Mountain Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Just to be clear the CERT teams will be sent out on Greer, Tripp Ct. and Patrol where scenarios and "victims", (thank you Woodside High School students who volunteered), will be placed. There will be lots of other activities in which non CERT trained folks can participate and increase their knowledge about preparedness and emergency response.

The other clarification is that Mark Dahlen is the logistical brains behind this all. He is the organizational genius that has moved our community to a new level. And then there is Selena Brown, WFPD, who motivates all of us to work hard to make our town safer.
