Menlo Park: Council approves hefty raises for police officers, corporals

Members of the Menlo Park Police Officers' Association will earn 12 percent in raises over the next three years under a contract the Menlo Park City Council approved Tuesday.

So, how much do they actually make in salary, benefits and pensions?

The police provide a vital service that most of us would not be willing to do. They have waited a long time for a raise in an area where housing prices have been increasing at a phenonmenal rate. I, for one, am happy to see the issue resolved in favor of the rank and file officers. I thank them for their service.
