Trump promised that Mexico would pay for the wall. Now he is making Federal employees pay for it. They should sue him for lying to America.

Trump, for two years(!), had both the House and Senate and did nothing - so ineffectual!
Sad. Low energy.
Suddenly it's a crisis?
The only crisis is that Trump now has to deflect attention from all these reports about his collusion with Russia to get elected and his paying back Putin (withdrawal from Syria, re-writing history about Afghanistan, removing sanctions, weakening NATO, etc..)
Go collect the check you promised from Mexico, before your indictment.
Open the government.

Donnie, boobaleh, you promised to get a one time payment of ten million dollars from Mexico as a down payment for the wall.
Where are the pesos?
Open the government, you lying
ruskie-loving fraud.
And lose that ridiculous wig.

Two years of complete control and he failed to build a wall.
Then he and Paul Ryan start the shutdown.
What a weakling. And the whole world sees it.

Everyone knows that the Trump Shutdown is a lame attempt by a narcissistic, uneducated colluder to try to distract from news that his campaign worked with Russians.
When will Republicans grow a pair and act?
The polls must be scaring them - are they that compromised by Putin money thru the NRA?

"where are the pesos?
I like that!
Trump/new guy 2020

Fox news: are you a Russian spy?
Trump: what a stupid question
Never answered the question.
Amazing.

The Trump Shutdown is going to be yet another Trump drag on the economy.
Wait until all the money laundering evidence comes out from the FBI, SDNY and Mueller.

The deep state is blaming the president for not opening the government since Paul Wimpy Ryan begged for a cheeseburger today but pay Tuesday.
The deep state is also blaming Trump for the fast food crap served to the champion athletes from Georgia. It's on the deep state.
The Russia thing too

30% of America appears to be illiterate. But it gets to claim to own the libs, so they think it's all good.

Can't give a State of the Union if the government is still in the Trump Shutdown.
What's he gonna say? " The state of the union is screwed up" ??

Jack Hickey is a registered user.
"That government is best which governs least". We need more workers in the private sector. NASA workers could join Elan Musk at Space-X.
Rep. Anna Eshoo, ... has voted ...to guarantee federal workers will receive any loss of pay due to the shutdown. Wonderful! Enjoy your vacations, Anna and her Democrats will make sure you get paid for it!
Who's going to pay the federal employees union dues? Will the union leaders get paid?
Much ado over nothing! The moaning and wailing about hardships created by the shutdown, pale in comparison to the human suffering inflicted by the California wildfires.

>> The moaning and wailing about hardships created by the shutdown, pale in comparison to the human suffering inflicted by the California wildfires.
What on earth are you talking about?!!?!!?
Why, this shutdown pales compared to the 100 million killed by the Spanish Influenza!
Therefore... Jack was saying, gubmint bad, and uhh, Anna Eshoo awful, and ummm, squirrel!

And just when you thought Hickey couldn't do any worse than he has recently...he posts here. And misses the point completely.
Which explains why he is a *former* elected official.

Trump needs his shutdown to distract from the news yesterday.
It's time, Bobby Three Sticks. You have information that begs impeachment. Time for Congress to be informed.

Jack is spot on, all this is just political posturing by both sides. Trump is not the problem, he’s a symptom of the real problem which is a government for special interests by special interests. American’s elected Trump for a reason, they were so desperate try anything but the status quo. Neither side cares a bit about the average working person and whether they get paid. Pelosi net worth > 30 million.

Hillman -- "Trump is not the problem, he’s a symptom of the real problem which is a government for special interests by special interests. American’s elected Trump for a reason, they were so desperate try anything but the status quo."
Oh. My. Word.
Not only is that a complete misread of what got -45 elected (and let us remember - he lost the popular vote by a margin of 3 million votes); it also completely mischaracterizes how -45 operates.
And as for going against the status quo -- yeah, what this country *really* needed was a president completely beholden to Vladimir Putin.
Ugh.
P.S. Let's not give credit to anything that Hickey may state -- the man has no clue what the actual situation happens to be.

Wow, @fails, you tow the CNN corporate message better than most! Russia? The problem is that ALL politicians are beholden to special interests! (and of them all Russia is way down the list, it's just the one that the dems can make a lot of hay off of for 2020). ALL politicians are deep in the pockets of corporations (banks, insurance, healthcare, energy etc), government institutions (e.g. IRS), other countries (not just Russia), individuals etc. They're happy to keep you focused on the Wall, shutdowns (and yes, what a buffoon Trump is) while they do backroom deals that make them $$$. Take away Trump and you still have a huge problem!
Again, neither side cares about the folks affected by the shutdown. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes on for a long time, as the underpinnings of our democracy are broken and it really has nothing to do with a wall (or an particular president).
Oh, and please, we all know Trump did not win the popular vote. Last I checked the election however was certified. Again, why did he get elected? Yes, you can write off a percentage of the 62+ Million that voted Trump as those that tow the Fox news garbage, but the rest (I believe) are trying the only way they can to change a completely dysfunctional/broken government that does not work for them.

>> Russia?
Yes. Russia. The Russia that the GOP nominee was NEGOTIATING with in OCTOBER 2016 (as verified by his lawyer on tv today) despite the lies previously told.
>> The problem is that ALL politicians are beholden to special interests
Best argument ever for public financing of elections. Thanks for making it so obvious!
>> neither side cares about the folks affected by the shutdown.
The House has voted on 8 bills to OPEN the government. Your statement is demonstrably false.
Trump is a terrible deal maker, and beholden to Putin, along with being afraid of Anne Coulter.

Fox news owns Pence today.
“You could open the government tomorrow,” said Chris Wallace
Pence mumbled about leverage.
This is a disaster for Republicans. And a lot of Americans.
Settle, Trump. Take the L and move on.

My goodness, Hillman -- you drank the -45 Kool-Aid, and went for seconds and thirds.
Let's get something straight here: -45 has ZERO interest in the welfare of the American people. ZERO. What does interest him is making money, whether legitimately or otherwise.
And it is a well-established fact that -45 is beholden to Putin. Insisting that this isn't the case only makes you more of a -45 cultist.

Jack Hickey is a registered user.
Article in today's Daily Post "Shutdown to cost more than wall" includes this statement:
"The standoff has idled 800,000 federal workers, though they will receive back pay when the shutdown ends." Why??? This should be saving the government several $Billion per month!
And, I suppose, those who worked without pay will get double-time.

Uh, Hickey -- which part of "These federal workers were DENIED their paychecks" do you NOT understand?!?!?!
These workers are NOT on strike; they are forced to work WITHOUT pay. You know what that is called? Slavery.
Maybe you're in favor of slavery, but who knows...

"These workers are NOT on strike; they are forced to work WITHOUT pay"
What don't you understand about "idled"? Can you spell "vacation"?
Those who are "forced to work WITHOUT pay" will eventually get paid, as they damned well should. Not so those idle souls. It wouldn't work that way in the private sector when the work week is reduced to 4 days.

Wow, Hickey -- not only are you permanently out to lunch; you have no discernible trace of humanity.
The fact that you support -45 in this fiasco only shows how completely out of touch you are. Calling enforced furloughs -- without pay -- "vacations" is as disgusting as it gets.
Thankfully, the voters of San Mateo County saw the light, and voted you out of office.
