Chinedu Okobi was Murdered by 5 San Mateo County Sheriff Deputies.
Sgt. David Weidner ordered his 4 Deputies to "Crush the Life out of him."
Him being the father of a 12 year old daughter, who had committed No crime was Unarmed, but was guilty of Walking While Black in Millbrae on October 3, 2018. That got the attention of a Cowboy Deputy that lead to the Murder.
The Supervisors are misleading the public once again with this sub committee. They are refusing the many request to release the video and audio which will verify that the Sheriff"s Office and District Attorney gave false statements to the press and the public about the Murder Victim. They omitted reporting he was based 6 times, he was struck with an Extended Baton, and Pepper Sprayed with 4 deputies on top him until they killed him at 1400 El Camino Real. After killing him they supplied NO CPR but did sit his dead body up like a sack of potatoes. Sheriff Carlos Bolanos made sure these fine officers were back on duty at the 400 County Center building working the entrance so they could watch all of the speakers who came to the Board of Supervisors meeting for Chinedu Okobi. That is about as Evil as you can get. Here is the Sheriff Twitter account

Release the video.
Transparency. The only way lethal force works.

Welcome to San Mateo County. The most corrupt county in the state.

Menlo Voter, if you think San Mateo county is the "Most corrupt county in the state" I would guess you don't get out much. Maybe you could share your proof?
So let's put a moratorium on tasers so that deputies only have their guns with which to deal with hostile situations, that makes perfect sense. I do agree that the video should be released but that is not a complete answer because video does not always show everything happening before the camera is on or the the entire story once it is filming...

seriously?:
See Michael Stogner's post above. You think that doesn't qualify as corruption? If you've been paying attention to these boards over the years you would be aware of numerous other acts of corruption by our DA, Sheriffs and Board of Supervisors.

The town of Woodside Council doesn't want to know anything about this murder by the Sheriff's Office that is contracted to patrol their Town.
Steve Wagstaffe, Carlos G. Bolanos, Mike Callagy, John Beiers, David Silberman, Don Horsley, Warren Slocum, Dave Pine, David Canepa, & Carole Groom. Have calculated that not releasing the recordings and none of the 7 advertising businesses aka papers reporting the Murder, that this will be Yesterdays News by Tomorrow. Who is going to care about Ebele Okobi's statement. She is a Black woman, lives in Europe travels a lot it's expensive to get to the truth in San Mateo County Courts. Sheriff Deputy Juan P. Lopez criminal case proves that point over 4 years and he lives in Redwood City. His case alone proves the Sheriff's Office the District Attorney's Office and County Counsel's Office all give false statements to the public and to SMC's Judges.
Most of San Mateo County Residents have no idea that Chinedu Oboki was Murdered by deputies October 3, 2018

No Truth, No Transparency=NO TRUST. The DA must make a swift and transparent report. The videos and the log of the 911 calls on 3 Oct 2018 must be released.
A DATE for the FORUM must be made public ASAP. Doesn't it seem that a forum would've better served the citizens of this County before the 12/4 decision to spend $3.9M on AXON-the taser manufacturer, by the BoS? This BoS continues to do nothing to assist or ensure that Justice is served in this matter, despite the clarion call of the citizens to them, on this matter. We take note and will continue to participate and act.

> because video does not always show everything happening before the camera is on
Then keep the camera ON. Why on earth would it be off?
Transparency. It's the only answer.

Three taser deaths in 10 months by the San Mateo county sheriff's department is extremely concerning. That Chinedu Okobi was killed by the sheriff's department when he had committed no crime is also concerning. The public trust is broken transparency is necessary to let the public know what happened. No one is above the law!

Chinedu Okobi was chased and killed for no reason, and the Sheriff's Department, DA, and Board of Supervisors seem to think they can make it go away by acting concerned while delaying the release of information for as long as possible. If they think we are going to forget that this happened in our county, they are mistaken.
They need to release the video and all 911 calls from that day immediately, and those who lied to the public about the events of that day should be fired. Their refusal to do so speaks volumes about who they are really concerned with protecting and serving.
I used to think our community was better than those "other places" where black men are murdered by law enforcement with impunity. Now I know better, and their stonewalling only erodes what little trust or goodwill remains. They can try to restore some trust through transparency and accountability, or they can keep protecting their own at the cost of public safety and human lives.

Oaker. "Mr Stogner its time to let the juan lopez thing go......no one cares."
I still care. I think Prosecutorial Misconduct is cowardly and criminal.
As you can see most of SMC don't care about a man being Murdered by 5 Deputies either......I do

I live in Redwood City and think this is an important first step in understanding why three innocent people have been killed by tasers in our county this year. But much more is needed.
We need better training for Sheriff and police. We need an immediate moratorium on the use of tasers in our county until we understand why three innocent people have been killed by them.
We need to immediately see the video of the killing of Chinedu Okobi, not wait until February when the DA completes his investigation. His sister has seen it and says that the Sheriff misrepresented what happened.
And most of all, we need the Board of Supervisors and the Sherif and DA - all of them accountable to us the residents of the community - to take this seriously. Forty people have spoken out to the Board of Supervisors asking hat the video be released. There is no reason to wait.

I believe if each of the three individuals had followed instructions they would be here today. Stop blaming the cops when the real issue is the mentally ill that are roaming our streets.

That may be the case, and if it is, why not release the video NOW?

Someone walking and behaving possibly erratically, not following police instructions, does not warrant the application of deadly force. In my opinion, that would require endangering the lives of others.

Patrick M said "I believe if each of the three individuals had followed instructions they would be here today. Stop blaming the cops when the real issue is the mentally ill that are roaming our streets."
Then you would support the immediate release of all recordings to hear what instructions were given.
When you hear Sgt. David Weidner ordering his 4 deputies to "Crush the Life out of him" after they had tased him 6 times and used extended baton on him which SO never mentioned. Pepper sprayed him and No CPR.
San Mateo County Sheriff Deputies don't need anymore training. They need to stop Murdering civilians.
Sheriff Office has made several false statements in Chinedu Okobi's Murder.
Don't miss out
