Menlo Park: House fire kills two pets, causes major damage

A fire that broke out in a two-story home in the unit block of Robert S Drive in Menlo Park this afternoon claimed the lives of two family pets and caused damage that could exceed $2 million, according the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.

Sorry to hear about the cats and the amount of damage. It is good the residents were not injured.

A great example of why ALL homes should have fire sprinklers.

When this home was built in 2005 the City of Menlo Park did not require fire sprinklers even for new homes.
