Fire board passes policy requiring public vote before a tax reallocation

A new board policy allowing the Menlo Park Fire Protection District to reallocate its property tax revenues only after approval by district voters was passed by a divided fire board on Sept. 18.

The Fire Board are trying to protect all members of the district that share services. If it would go to the voters, there would be information available to district voters, instead of a Fire Board giving away tax funds to another district, without the added information.

BERNSTEIN, ONCE AGAIN MISINFORMED AND MISREPRESENTED THE FACTS. LEGAL COUNCIL TOLD YOU THAT THE BOARD HAS THE POWER TO DO WHAT THE MAJORITY COMPLETED! What is your agenda? Is it to hurt all the other residents you serve? What again, is your agenda?
