Weekly Peaceful Sidewalk Demonstrations every Friday, noon - 1 in Palo Alto

Original post made by Judy Adams, Menlo Park: Downtown, on Aug 15, 2018

Ongoing noon-1 demonstration EVERY FRIDAY on peace and justice issues sponsored by the local Women's Intl. League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) branch, a member of the 2018 Poor People's Campaign (PPC) modeled on the 1968 campaign of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The PPC is focusing on the the issues of poverty, racism, militarism and damage to the environment. The campaign in this phase is focusing on meeting community needs, voting rights, voter registration, and electing progressive candidates to work for peaceful change and restoration of justice and environmental protections. We have signs to share or bring your own. We welcome all peaceful participants.

Location: Palo Alto's traditional "free speech" corner where El Camino and Embarcadero meet, just outside Town & Country Village at 855 El Camino, under the large lantern "sign." Information about PPC: poorpeoplescampaign.org. Contact WILPF at wilpf.peninsula.paloalto@gmail.com
