Original post made by Michael G. Stogner, another community, on Apr 20, 2018

The San Mateo County Democratic Party. Voted No Endorsement for Sheriff 2018.

The San Mateo County Democratic Party (also known as the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, or SMC DCC) held their Endorsement Meeting last night.

“It was a unanimous vote with a couple of abstentions.” “No endorsement passed in a landslide.” said Sabrina Brennan

This is a big deal for San Mateo County Voters who have not had a say in who their Sheriff is in the last 25 years. The Supervisors have made sure of that in the past and most recently when Supervisors Don Horsley, Warren Slocum and Adrienne Tissier Illegally Appointed Carlos Bolanos Sheriff July 12, 2016. This is a contested election between San Mateo County Sheriff Deputy Mark Melville and Carlos Bolanos. Voters can vote as early as May 8th with mail-in ballots and the official election date is June 5, 2018.

I am voting for Mark D. Melville.

I am sure Carlos G. Bolanos thought he had this endorsement. Let the voters see who is the honest candidate.

When a citizen sent San Carlos councilman Ron Collins information about the San Mateo County Democratic party’s unanimous decision not to endorse Carlos Bolanos, Collins sent the citizen a response saying that he had identified the message and sender as “spam.” Beyond weird. Guess someone’s a wee bit touchy.

San Carlos Council member Ron Collins has made it very clear he has no interest in citizens bringing information to him. Ron Collins is not interested in watching a 3 minute video. Candidate for Sheriff 2018 Mark Melville on the other hand said he took the time to watch a 3 minute video of Mark De Paula's presentation to the Board of Supervisors on March 13, 2018, He described it as "Brilliant" and has stated "It proves that Munks and Bolanos are liars."

Not to detract from Brennan's enthusiasm, there were more than a couple (2) abstentions.

Does anyone know how the representatives covering Menlo Park voted?

Menlo Park is split into 2 supervisorial districts. Democrats West of El Camino Real can elect 6 members to the central committees, and Democrats East of El Camino Real can elect 4 members to the central committees. These meetings are open to the public.

Is the professed transparency & ethical candidate Melville the same as this guy fined for political corruption in this article? If so, and even though it was years ago, what does this say about him as a candidate?

Is the professed “law and order “ candidate Bolanos the same as this guy who was cited in a US Department- funded report “ Domestic Minor Sex Traffickng” for being found at a brothel where there were trafficked MINORS?

Is the self professed best candidate for the County the Bolanos who is the subject of this story: “ Lawmakers Want Top Cops Held Accountable? “ Web Link

Excerpts: “ Munks and Bolanos ended up at 3474 Eldon St. an off-white ranch home fitted with barred windows and furnished sparsely with a couch and TV in the front room and nothing but mattresses on the floors of the bedroom, according to the police.

Outside the house therewas no business sign. Inside, there were large boxes of condoms and great quantities of lubricant, said Lauren Hermosillo, a social worker with the Salvation Army who assisted the women inside once the police arrested the people accused of selling their bodies.

Describing the house, Hermosillo said, “ it smelled like urine, it smelled last me feces, it smelled like cigarette smoke. It did t look like a massage parlor. It was obviously not a massage parlor.”

... Most of the women working at the six brothels were indentured sex slaves, said Las Vegas police Lt. Dave Logue.

E. Thos thanks for that article now lets compare.

After being Caught and Detained as a Customer of Human Trafficked Sex Slaves including a minor and Transported to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department Holding cell where he spent several hours. He makes this false statement several times.

"There is nothing illegal about being at a massage parlor." Carlos Bolanos April 2007 to CBS Las Vegas.

Carlos Bolanos was not in a massage parlor at 3474 Eldon Street, Las Vegas, Nevada

The comparison Mr Stogner, is that our legal system presumes innocence, until one is proven guilty. If the article linked in the post above describes candidate Melville, it appears he failed to disclose the allegation, findings of wrongdoing and fine levied against him. If that finding was against him and made after he was hired as a deputy, did he disclose it to his employer? Does that finding and gone affect his eligibility for the position of deputy sheriff? Does that finding and fine affect his candidacy for the office of sheriff? Did you know about it previously Mr Stogner?

E.Thos you seem to be doing that exact same thing Carlos Bolanos did right after he was released from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department Holding cell after being caught as a Customer of Human Trafficked Sex Slave including a minor. April 21. 2007

E. Thos the other option you have if you are a San Mateo County Voter is to Write In Heinz Puschendorf if you don't approve of Mark Melville.

He was the President of the DSA the night of April 21, 2007. He was working in San Mateo County that day and night.
You can imagine the phones calls he started receiving around 10:15PM that night.

E.Thos: Sheriff Bolanos won’t even answer questions about what happened. Insulting to public and not acceptable behavior for someone who is supposed to be in charge of eradicating sex trafficking. Mr Bolanos has also changed his story a couple of times. We aren’t allowed to ask him why he first told a TV station that he was in the limo but then changed it to being outside the brothel.Sad the press didn’t push harder on this horrible scandal. Press in Chicago or Philly or Boston or NY would have eaten Bolanos alive. Karma is coming for him. Www.carlosbolanos.org

Those who are not conspiracy therorists, those with an ability to discern between allegations and findings, will likely see the importance of an undisclosed FPPC decision to impose a fine for political corruption and conflict of interest. Was the finding and fine against candidate Melville? If so, did he disclose the allegation and investigation before he was hired as a deputy sheriff? If so, was that finding and fine disclosed to his current employer when levied to update his qualifications? If so, does that finding and fine affect his eligibility to serve as a deputy sheriff? If so, does that finding and fine affect his candidacy for the position of sheriff? If so, has candidate Melville opened his personnel file for public scrutiny to support transparency of his qualifications and suitablity for election to the office sought. These are questions that any voter may consider, rather than repetitious and emotionally charged allegations and character assassinations based on suspicions and cherrypicked excerpts from aged media reports that have not resulted in any official finding. Voters should make well informed decisions at the polls.

E. Thos, I think I can explain the difference you are looking for.

It appears Mr. Melville did commit a fairly petty infraction, and was fined for it. I don't know whether he disclosed it to his current employer, nor whether such disclosure was required. California law doesn't require disclosure of infractions.

It has been alleged that Mr. Bolanos participated in what our society and justice system views as a much more serious crime than the infraction Mr. Melville apparently committed. Failure to file a form versus participating, as a law enforcement official, in human trafficking.

I understand you and Mr. Bolanos claim it's "old news" and has been adjudicated by the Board of Supervisors with a finding of no wrongdoing on the parts of Mr. Bolanos and Mr. Munks, but there are allegations that the adjudication never took place, and the issue was essentially swept under the rug due to political considerations. You seem to be saying this particular allegation is a crazy one of conspiracy theorists.

But I think I have a solution for you and Mr. Bolanos. As a way of refuting this allegation (no adjudication), why doesn't Mr. Bolanos simply authorize the release of the portion of his personnel file that shows an investigation took place by the Board of Supervisors, and he was found innocent?

My perspective is that voters to make well informed decisions. According to the FPPC website ( Web Link ) slide 13, criminal violations are classified as misdemeanors. The Melville allegations seem to have been handled as Administrative, not Criminal, Prosecutions. This page ( Web Link ) of their website is very informative about their process, common practices and resolutions.

So, in other words, the Board of Supervisors never addressed the issue with Bolanos and Munks, despite the suggestions on these boards that it's been "dealt with" and if we haven't heard about disciplinary action, there was none, because they did nothing wrong.

You are assuming that Jerry Hill, Rich Gordon, Mark Church, Rose Jacobs Gibbson, & Adrienne Tissier did what they were supposed to do representing the residents of San Mateo County.

They didn't.

If anyone has video of San Mateo Sheriff candidate Heinz Puschendorf speaking about Operation Dollhouse at human trafficking forum on April 28, please post here
