Menlo Park: Coffee kiosk to 'benefit public' hits snags

The owners of the office building currently under construction at 1020 Alma St. in Menlo Park may be asked to subsidize a publicly-accessible coffee kiosk indefinitely, following a discussion by the city's Planning Commission earlier this month.

The public benefit of a coffee kiosk was ridiculous to begin with.

Regardless, the builder should purchase and plant as large an oak there as possible. It’s just the right thing to do.
