How one school prepares for the worst

Sacred Heart Schools' 64-acre Atherton campus has nearly 1,200 students, from 3-year-old preschoolers to 18-year-old high schoolers, plus at least 250 adults, which makes preparing for an emergency a challenge.

It's good that Sacred Heart has an emergency response plan and team. Let us hope that other local schools do also. However, let also also that, while school shootings are the potential emergency du jour, school emergency plans address others, such as fires or earthquakes that affect a school or its students.yoYhop
