Been there twice. Once after they first opened, then again (to see if they passed the one and done test) a couple of months later. They passed with flying colors.
Same excellent food. Service was over the top. Kay spent time with us explaining how they got started in the east bay and migrated to MP. Wait staff was very attentive.
Get the Roti Prata bread (A+++), Hand Rolls (A+++) and Black Pepper Scallops (A+++).
I'll mention one (-) point. On our second visit at 5pm on a Thursday, the maitre'd was rude, asked if we had a reservation - not an issue - but took his time locating a table in this sparsely occupied restaurant. Kind of put off because of that. And an hour later, there were only half dozen tables occupied.

Previously wrote about visits to Black Pepper, and can continue to sing praises for their attention to the food quality, variety, staff and overall ambiance.
This is a first class restaurant with homemade food, prepared as you order.

The sign on El Camino is an eyesore. We know multiple families who refuse to eat there because of it. It's hurting the business.

The sign is a strange thing to complain about, well not in Menlo Park. What's wrong with the sign, it seems fine to me, if fact I hardly notice it.
What i will complain about is the price. It is outrageous. More that double their other restaurant in Milpitas. Food was OK, but portions were small. It was $75 for two people and we got take out.
