Glad you hit the pause button. Now hit the stop button. It's one more over.

Menlo Park, Palo Alto and other peninsula cities need to take strong measures to slow the addition of new office space (jobs). Almost all of our woes are due to overcrowding and until limits are placed on the growth of commercial space, the quality of life will continue its downward spiral.

Oh yeah, I agree, that is a terrible design; more Woodside/Portola Valley, less Fremont/Milpitas.

Not sure that Portola Valley or Woodside are the models for downtown Menlo Park- we'd have to scrape half the buildings and add horses. But then all the other mega-development can't be the answer either- Huge 'craftsman' six story ski-lodges or disney-mexican themed office blocks. We need comfortable human-scaled buildings that aren't in-your-face but feel fresh and original.

Menlo Park should use downtown Burlingame as a model. The streets are always vibrant and the commercial area is bustling. People would actually want to spend time in downtown Menlo Park if it was more visually appealing and had a better selection of stores and restaurants!

I love the idea of using Burlingame as a model!
