Supes OK limited commercial cultivation of marijuana

It will soon be OK to grow marijuana for commercial purposes in unincorporated San Mateo County if it's grown in a greenhouse, according to an ordinance given preliminary approval Dec. 5 by the Board of Supervisors.

Just wait till the first robbery or cartel involvment shows up. Terrible decesion.

There will be no need for "cartel involvement". Legalization will drive the price down and take the profit out of the prohibited product so they will have no interest in it. That is the lesson one should take from the abject failure of the prohibition of alcohol. All it did was create a criminal class and gangsters that profited from the prohibited product, alcohol. They eliminated the prohibition and guess what happened? The gangsters went away. There was no more major profit in booze, so no more bootleggers. Same thing applies to marijuana. Or any illicit drug for that matter. Eliminate the prohibition and you eliminate the insane profits that encourage "cartels".
