Tuesday: Menlo Park grapples with Willows traffic emergency

The Menlo Park City Council is scheduled to discuss at its meeting Tuesday (Nov. 14) what to do about the drastically worsened traffic that's resulted from the installation last week of new signals at the Willow Road/U.S. 101 interchange.

The traffic congestion on Bay Road from the Suburban Park neighborhood out to Willow in the early afternoon is awful. It took me 45 minutes to travel from Greenwood to Willow and 4 attempts to get through the light @ Willow to get onto southbound 101.

Does anyone else think that Caltrans screwed up this project in a huge way. First not understanding the impact of their changes and second not willing to do anything to mitigate the traffic nightmare they caused. Someone should be fired for this debacle.
