Monday: Menlo Park 'community conversation' on housing crisis

Original post made on Nov 12, 2017

Want to vent, or just have a discussion, about the local housing crisis? Menlo Park Mayor Kirsten Keith will host a "community conversation" about the regional housing shortage on Monday, Nov. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Sequoia room of the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center.

Too little, too late. Menlo is partially responsible for the crisis.

Agree with hmmm.

This meeting feels pretty hypocrtical.

This meeting is total hypocrisy. Keith and the Council made the regional problem worse by approving massive amounts of new offices and a fraction of the needed housing. The jobs:housing imbalance in Menlo Park is shameful due to land use decisions made by these people.

So what was the outcome of the community meeting?

Many seniors would build second units behind their homes but the excessive regulation
imposed by MP makes it far too expensive for most seniors living on fixed incomes. I would like to see a grant program for residents willing to help with the housing crisis.
