Today: Weather conditions elevate fire danger to extreme, fire marshal says

A red-flag warning has been issued due to extreme fire danger today and tomorrow for residents of Portola Valley, Woodside and nearby unincorporated communities. Residents are being warned to monitor contractors' outdoor work to prevent fire ignitions by gardening and other equipment that can create sparks.
