Menlo Park council votes to annex Stanford land, approve office building

The Menlo Park City Council voted 4-1 Tuesday, with Councilman Ray Mueller opposed, to approve a plan that involves the city annexing about 16 acres of unincorporated county land that Stanford University owns and allowing Stanford to build a two-story office building of roughly 40,000 square feet at 2131 Sand Hill Road.

The council approves a project that adds 110,230 new carvtrips but only $6,500 per year?
On a 16 acre property that could be housing? Could be sports fields?

? Was this part of a trade on the downtown development? Was the deal even worse than we thought?
