"Commissions function just fine with clear recusal process," writes the planning commissioner that works for Facebook. After so many sidewalk conversations, we're disappointed this is the only topic you deem worthwhile for an opinion piece. Spend less time worrying about anonymous comments, and more time building relationships with real people. You should write an opinion piece on lessons learned from your unsuccessful 2014 campaign for city council. Other candidates could benefit greatly by learning what not to do, especially in the area of flip-flopping on key issues.

Thanks Mr Combs for reminding us how squeaky things are around here. We need to remind ourselves this when the townsfolk start going into conspiracy theory mode over issues that are trivial

No conspiracy here, just the facts. Facebook has proposed the largest single development in the history of Menlo Park. This and other Facebook projects will take up more staff, commission and council time than any project for years to come. If Combs agrees with (really?) that this conflict is trivial, he should make that claim to the FPPC. Good luck.
