This is a response to the above info about the dog bite. I take long walks every evening and am surprised by dog owners who don't know how to control their dogs. They seem to think that people out walking need to jump off the sidewalk to accommodate them. They often walk on one side of the sidewalk, their dog on a long leash on the other side with the leash stretched between the two. They don't bother to pull their dog close to their side to accommodate other walkers on the sidewalk but think everyone needs to get out of their way. Their dogs often lunge at passersby with the owner doing nothing. People should have permits to walk their dogs outside of their homes. The permits should be handed out only after the dog owner passes a test of how to safely walk their dogs in public.
There's a woman in Burgess park who always has her unruly dog off leash around the duck pond so the dog can chase the ducks. The dog also charges at children, stopping short of attack. So sick of those people.

Wow. It seems like each week this list gets longer and longer. Menlo Park needs to focus on the rampant crime, NOT on the library (which is subpar but does not deserve the attention it is getting)

Rampant?
Prove it.
Like your claim of violent crime in the other thread. A joke.
How are the new signs?

Rampant Gra: "Menlo Park is no doubt very safe. However, local residents have voiced safety concerns after an increase in residential burglaries"
"... and with an uptick in crime, Menlo Park faces new challenges as it moves into the 21st century"
"Menlo Park is becoming more like Palo Alto, with a rapidly urbanizing downtown. However this could have negative consequences..."

PV Res: That's not proof. Those are statements of opinion. Prove your assertion that "crime is rampant in Menlo Park" [portion removed].

If you're going yo make crazy claims... show the math.

Otherwise, it's just a Trumpian lie.

Regarding dogs. There's a neighbor in the apartments on the corner of Arbor rd. & Santa Cruz Ave who allows their dog to use the Santa Cruz Ave. sidewalk as a toilet - #2 ! over 30 droppings stepped on, ridden over, etc. My kid came home with crap from that section of sidewalk all over his sneaker & skateboard. It's gross and this has been going on for over a year.

Beware when walking, the dog waste field is on the sidewalk next to the telephone / utility pole on Santa Cruz Ave. about 50 feet east of Arbor Rd. towards town.
