It seems that there is more and more crime happening in our neighborhoods. So much so that now even the almanac is featuring it on a weekly basis. Last week on my street a car was stolen bikes were stolen and the Mini Mart was robbed. Maybe we need to start a neighborhood watch and all of our neighborhoods. Or maybe we need to have the police patrolling more often or hire more police

These Robberies aren't violent and nothing important really got stolen. Please remember to lock your belongings and keep valuables out of site. Not too bad.

More cameras would really help here. I would expect that high-res camera footage would help the police arrest and the DAs convict the perps here.

Portola Valley is installing ALPRs with 5 point recognition to all town entrances (this will allow sheriff's to discern residents from visitor/criminals). Maybe Menlo should do the same? There is much more crime and I no longer feel safe when I visit. Cameras would help solve many of these problems effectively posing as a deterrent for thugs.

"Portola Valley is installing ALPRs with 5 point recognition to all town entrances (this will allow sheriff's to discern residents from visitor/criminals). "

From resident of Portola Valley about visiting Menlo Park

"Maybe Menlo should do the same?
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE CRIME AND I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE WHEN I VISIT."

This is a joke, right?

I heard about the ALPR's in PV. and wondered, if there were a burglary in PV would the police review all license plates for that day looking for someone who doesn't live in PV.... and then?

According to keep pv safe's previous posts, no one that doesn't live in PV should be coming into "their" town. After all, it's only "outsiders" that are committing crime in PV, right?

Someone's trolling.
