Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory 2017 Access Group

Original post made by Madeline Napel, Portola Valley: Central Portola Valley, on Apr 27, 2017

WANTED: a team of high school actors with cognitive and/or learning disabilities to explore, create, and perform with us this summer! Ideal participants will be interested in theatre and excited to perform in front of a group when provided with appropriate supports, which may include peer mentoring and/or individualized staff attention.

You won’t want to miss this.

Together with a group of neurotypical high school performers, you will devise an original theatre piece exploring this summer’s theme: Rise Up! What does it mean to take your future in your own hands and run with it, despite power structures that exist in our societies? Whose stories are told and whose voices are heard?

You will rehearse your piece on Saturday mornings (June 24th- July 15th, 10 AM to noon), and perform for PVTC’s four-week musical theatre campers on Saturday, July 15th at noon. Next, it will be your turn to be entertained and inspired as you watch these campers perform Lion King Jr.!
