Menlo Park council still not joining Atherton in fire district fiscal study

Why can't they all work together? Atherton is the richest community, but the cheapest. Children play and get along better.

"I want to see where else we can spend this money."

A politician who wants to spend someone else's money.

I don't blame Menlo Park or Atherton, the Fire District seems bent on alienating everyone. They don't want to share information with the cities and citizens they are supposed to represent. Personally I think Menlo Park should join the study. I also think the district shoudl be blocked from doing any fees on their own. If they can't justify the need to the cities then they really don't need the money. And since I am sure Peter will argue this maybe he would like to share the data on financial impact here and with the city and make this a transparent issue?

The fire district has figured out how to squeeze hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars from the cities it serves. It does its job but at exorbitant cost. The district is abusing its role and needs to be reorganized with new city contracts. Time for a new chief.
