Portola Valley: License-plate-reading cameras likely up by start of summer

When summer arrives in Portola Valley, if things go as planned, license plate-reading cameras at the town's borders will be photographing the front and rear of every vehicle entering and leaving town.

Thank goodness!! It's about time! I advocate for at least a one year retention IF NOT MORE, Let's catch these thugs and put them where they belong!

I'm not sure how well these camera's will work if for example some criminals will just remove their license plates, or steal another license plate from same make and model of their get away car.

I wonder if they be capturing the face pictures of the drivers and passengers as part of capturing the license plates?

My advice what I do to protect my family & property is

One install cameras and a house alarm around/in my property

Second I employ Woodside Patrol Security (Portola Valley) who come to my property daily and do a house check or driveway check, depending if I'm home or not. They also response to my property should the alarm be activated. I have always been very impressed with their level of service and the professionalism of their officers.
